Becoming a Member of the Association

1- Natural person or legal identities who are above the age of eighteen, have the capability to use their civil rights, approved to grant specific payment to the association, willing to make contribution to the development of the social and cultural relations between Türkiye – Belgium and however have no inconveniency by the association law and subject to approval can become a full member of the association. Likewise according to the same law:

2- With the condition of not having an provision to the contrary in special laws Constitutional Court members,  with the permission of Constitutional Court High Court members, with the permission of High Court Council of state members, with the permission of council of state presiding committee Court of account members, prosecuting attorney and deputy prosecuting attorneys, with the permission of court of account committee Judiciaries, by taking the opinion of supreme council of judges and prosecutors with the permission of ministry of justice can become a member of the association.

3- State employees specified in the 4th article of the law numbered 2041can become a

member of the associations fixated and announced by their related ministries and however actions can be taken according to those principals.

4- People that the law has stated of not having permission to become a member of an association, the middle and secondary school students cannot be a member of the association.

5- Those who have committed those crimes stated down below cannot be a member of the association, even if they are pardoned. Those who are sentenced with infamous crimes like debt, embezzlement, theft, forgery misuse of faith, fraudulent bankruptcy and smuggling apart from employment and consumption smuggling, scheme to rig bids on tender. Those who are sentenced with any of the crimes written in the 1st article of the second  Turkish Penal Code book. Those who are sentenced with instigating the public to hatred and hostility by showing differences of class, race, language, religion and region by the second paragraph of 312nd article of the Turkish Penal law, and those who are sentenced with forgery by the same law’s 316th, 317th and 318th articles Those who are sentenced with making actions by the 5 years starting from the finalization of the decision, and the members of parties which caused the association to be closed by their actions or those who are expelled from a  political party by the (d) paragraph of the 101st article of the political law numbered 2820 cannot be a member of an association for 5 years starting from their expel or the written notification date of the closure sentence by the Constitutional Court .

6- Non-Turkish Citizens who want to become a member of the association, have to have the residence permit in Turkey besides the conditions required for Turkish Citizens. Residence permit is not required for honorary membership.

7-Those who want to be a permanent member apply to the board of directions with an application and two photographs. However those should be introduced by two permanent members. Foreign ones should bring a copy of their residence permit with the application. Residence document is not required from the Belgium embassy members.

8- Applications are declared in the association for ten days. Members can state their opinions to the board of directions

9- Accepting to the membership is decided on the board of directions with secret vote. Those who get two declines on the secret vote would not be accepted for the membership. Reason of the decline would not be revealed. The applications for the membership are determined in 30 days.

10- Membership applicant fulfills the liability of the association within a month after the acceptance to the association notification

11- Honorary membership may be given to those who have done moral and material support to accomplish the purposes of the association. 

Honorary members may pay contribution, however they have no voting power in general meeting as they also cannot be chosen to the association organs

12-The permanent members have one vote each in the general meeting, they cannot vote by proxy.

Registration Form and Membership Process

Honorary membership may be given to those who have done moral and material support to accomplish the purposes of the association. Honorary members may pay contribution, however they have no voting power in general meeting as they also cannot be chosen to the association organs.

Unsubscribe

Each member has the right to leave the association with written notice. As soon as the member’s resignation petition reaches the Board of Directors, the exit proceedings are concluded. Unmembership does not end the member’s accumulated debt to the association.

a) Members who act against the organization’s purpose or activities, or in inappropriate actions, may be removed from the Association and their records will be deleted as a result of a secret vote by the Board of Directors.

b) The addresses of members who do not meet their financial obligations to the Association are notified once by the Board of Directors. In this warning, the amount of debt and its kind are discarding. In addition, it is indicated that if no payment is made within this time, it will be unsubscribed and its registration will be deleted. Members who do not comply with this alert are unsubscribed by the Board of Directors decision and their records are deleted.

c) Members are obliged to pay their debts, regardless of how long they are cut off from the Association. The Board of Directors decides to go on the road to the execution of those who do not pay.

d) The Member who has been made such a decision to dismember the Board may appeal in writing to the first General Assembly to follow the decision. the decision made in the event of an appeal is stopped. However, this member may not benefit from membership rights until the General Assembly decides on the objection. The decision made by the General Assembly is final.
e) If the main members who have temporarily or permanently left the Ankara do not wish to resign from the Association, they may ask the Board of Directors to grant their donation from paying their annual fees as long as they are outside.

> The address of the association in the letter, warning and notification sent to members by the Board of Directors and other bodies is essential. Members must report address changes to the Association in writing. The correspondence, warnings and notices made to the old addresses of members who do not report the amendment are considered to be in their hands and the provisions of the Regulation shall be applied accordingly.
